Maryia has completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Waterloo. Taking advantage of the unique opportunity presented by the co-op program, she completed internships in numerous architecture offices around the world, including in India, Netherlands, Austria and the UK. Her graduate thesis interest further led her to volunteer on several school construction sites in rural Nepal, as part of the post-disaster reconstruction efforts following the 2015 earthquake. This experience has left a deep impact on Maryia’s approach to design, resulting in a more holistic approach rooted in environmental sustainability and social responsibility, as well as a passion for exploring the agency of architecture on both the community and city scales.
