Who we are:
We are an eclectic group of architects, designers, strategists, artists, sustainability experts, parents, cyclists, gardeners, apiarists, and more all united in the goal of realizing projects that improve the health and resiliency of our local communities. We strive to shape ourselves around the people we have, celebrative the diverse and unique perspectives and lifestyles of our people, from students through to partners. We are passionate about using our work to create meaningful relationships between people, place, and the living planet and we are relentlessly optimistic that architecture can contribute to meaningful positive change.
What we do:
At Local, we offer a full range of architectural services fully integrated with our in-house green building expertise. We work across a range of projects, from affordable housing, infrastructure, public projects, and educational facilities. In all of our work, we are committed to celebrating living processes and using architecture to contribute to vibrant, equitable, and life sustaining futures.
Our uniting goal is to create projects that have a lasting positive impact on their host communities. As a firm, we use the Integrated Design Process for all of our projects, and we focus on developing holistic, systemic solutions to our clients' needs. Our role often extends beyond traditional architectural services to include engagement processes, strategic planning, decision analysis, urban design, sustainable design, and project management.
How we work:
We operate on a 37.5 hour work week, with any necessary overtime balanced by time off. We have flexible work hours and hybrid work from home arrangements. We work with a salary pay scale to promote pay equity and we offer extended health benefits. In 2023 we implemented a profit sharing program through which we will distribute a percentage of firm profits to staff in a transparent manner.
