Jacob believes that simple, place-based architecture, and an empathetic design process can make a profound impact on the lives of individuals and communities. With a degree in Architectural Sciences from BCIT, Jacob explores environmental and social sustainability by way of connecting the built and living. Prior to working at Local Practice, Jacob worked in the Netherlands, developing his appreciation for the underlying cultural currents that inform the design process. Jacob holds closely the importance of cultivating honest, collaborative relationships as a path to better design and experience.
In Jacob’s free time, you will find him with his family, exploring BC, making in the wood shop, inventing in his sketchbook, or reading in a beach chair.
